Melrose to Welcome Garden Remedies Medical Marijuana Dispensary
Massachusetts’ first woman-led and physician-led cannabis company opens its second location
MELROSE, MASS., September 19, 2018 – Garden Remedies, Inc., Massachusetts’ first woman-led and physician-led cannabis company, is opening its second medical marijuana dispensary at 732 Newburyport Turnpike in Melrose, Massachusetts, with a grand opening celebration on Friday, October 12. Led by Dr. Karen Munkacy, M.D., Garden Remedies’ goal is to help as many people as possible by making safe, legal, natural cannabis medicine available to those in need. The dispensary will serve only registered medical cannabis card patients.
“We help our patients manage the pain of chronic and acute medical conditions through safe and natural cannabis-derived medicines,” said Dr. Karen Munkacy, M.D., Founder, President and CEO of Garden Remedies, Inc. “We have been serving the Melrose community through our home delivery service already, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to help even more people in this community as we open our new dispensary.”
Dr. Munkacy is board-certified in Anesthesiology and fellowship-trained in pain management. She began researching the medical applications of marijuana after undergoing breast cancer treatment herself. She was a leader in the successful ballot campaign for the legalization of medical marijuana in Massachusetts in 2012, and continues to work to destigmatize safe, regulated cannabis use.
