Zimmer & Co. to Sponsor 200 Ganja Farmers to Attend Cannabis Conference
Title Sponsors Make CanEx Jamaica Accessible to Jamaican Farmers
(MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA) Jamaican health and wellness distribution company, Zimmer & Co, will sponsor 200 local ganja farmers from the Ganja Growers & Producers Association to attend CanEx Jamaica Business Conference free of cost. The third staging of CanEx Jamaica will take place September 27-29 at the Montego Bay Convention Center in Montego Bay.
Zimmer CEO, T’Shura Gibbs, announced the news at a press conference, held at Spanish Court Hotel in Kingston on Thursday September 6. As title sponsors for the conference, Zimmer & Co. has agreed to work with three other growing associations to facilitate additional farmers who wish to attend. The tickets will allow the farmers access to the expo. Farmers who wish to take advantage of this offer should contact their growing associations who will be contacted directly by the CanEx organizers to facilitate the program.
Gibbs stated, “We believe a vibrant legal cannabis industry offers great opportunity and should be accessible to Jamaicans at all levels. The idea for this company came out of attending CanEx in 2017, and when we were in discussions with the organizers to sponsor this year, we wanted to find a vehicle that would allow more Jamaicans to attend, network and participate. We are fortunate that our investors and the CanEx organizers shared our vision and delighted that we could collaborate in this manner.”
Orville Silvera, Past President and Special Advisor to the Ganja Growers & Producers Association, responded, “I am very grateful and pleased that Zimmer & Co. is willing to bring our farmers into a space where they can network with global leaders, especially when they may not have been able to afford it on their own.”
Delano Seiveright, Senior Advisor and Strategist for Government of Jamaica shared, “It’s an excellent initiative that shows tremendous vision and foresight and I am certain will be well received. I hope more companies will similarly facilitate ways to ensure the industry is inclusive while being professional and upholding international standards.”
The CanEx Jamaica Business Conference & Expo will bring together over 50 speakers and 1200 high-powered global cannabis experts, researchers, business professionals and policymakers from over 20 countries across North, South and Central America, the Caribbean, Europe and Australia. Over the two days of the conference, more than 50 speakers and panelists will discuss the changing medicinal, health, wellness, legal, regulatory, business and investment landscape.
Keynote speakers at this year’s conference include Vicente Fox, former president of Mexico, Montel Williams, television talk show host and Founder of Lenitiv Labs, and Bruce Linton, CEO of Canopy Growth Corporation, the largest cannabis company in the world.
