Remembering Ruth Bader Ginsberg Relentlessly Battling for Gender-Equality
This week in cannabis news we mourn the loss of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, who passed away on September 18th at the age of 87. Her prolific reign as a champion for women’s rights within the executive branch is unparalleled. Her cutting remarks became the fodder for a celebrity-like cult following, which elevated her status above the powerful seat of office she obtained through tenacity and fierce dedication. It was, however, her relatability to women and the struggles—especially with regards to career mobility—unique to our gender that made her so magnetic and downright charming. RIP RBG, you will be sorely missed.

Emerging research suggests that cannabis use provides a reduction in the level of perceived pain for a percentage of migraine sufferers. According to an article published by NORML, “Nearly a third of patients with migraines have tried cannabis for symptom management, and the majority of those who have done so report it to be effective.” This groundbreaking research opens the door for the medical industry to embrace non-traditional palliative care options for migraine relief.
Far out, Ann
Ann Arbor, Michigan, just became the most recent in a handful of cities to pass a resolution to decriminalize entheogenic plants, which include mushrooms and ayahuasca. The resolution, proposed and posted online by Decriminalize Nature Ann Arbor (DNA2), passed unanimously with an 11-0 vote by city council members.
