This week I tried out three products from Pure For Life: the Active Tincture, Active Lotion, and gel capsules. Pure for Life is a 100% natural, U.S.-grown, GMO-free CBD company. They offer full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD-infused products. Broad-spectrum products are completely THC free, whereas full-spectrum products can sometimes have up to .03% of THC, which is the largest amount allowed under federal law.
CBD itself has a variety of benefits. Healthline reports that CBD can help treat anxiety, depression, acne, neurological conditions, and may even help fight cancer.
Some of the company’s formulas also contain coconut oil, which Healthline says has benefits for heart health; promotes weight loss; and has even been known to help Alzheimer’s patients.
Pure for Life’s Active Tincture
1 fl. ounce 1000 mg of CBD
$56.72
The first product I tried was Pure for Life’s 1000 mg blueberry flavored Active Tincture. It contains either full-spectrum hemp extract or infused coconut oil, and natural flavoring. When you order it, you get a choice between the two types of oils. Mine had coconut oil in it.
It comes in a 1 fl. ounce glass bottle with a child-proof dropper cap. One serving is a dropper full (.6 ml), and each serving has about 20 mgs of CBD in it.
Unfortunately I could not find specific third-party lab test results for these products on their website. Therefore, I cannot confirm the exact CBD content — or whether the product actually contains a full-spectrum formula as advertised.
It tastes and smells like blueberry, which isn’t my favorite flavor (although I imagine blueberry lovers will like the flavor). According to the directions, consumers should drop the oil under their tongue, and leave it there for a minute before swallowing it.
I usually use CBD oil for anxiety symptoms, when my heart is racing and I get shaky. Taking this slowed me down pretty quickly. I’d say about five minutes after taking it, I started to feel symptom relief. I also noticed my mood lightened, and I felt slightly more focused after I took it.

Gel Capsules
30 mg of CBD per capsule/750 mg per bottle (30 capsules)
$56.72
The next product I tried was Pure for Life’s 750 mg Gel Capsules. They come in a bottle with 30 capsules; each capsule has 25 mgs of CBD. The ingredients are CBD, coconut oil, and the gel coating (gelatin, water, glycerine) for the capsules.
There is no specific scent or taste to these capsules. I wouldn’t recommend taking them on an empty stomach. I did, and my stomach was upset after trying them a few times without eating food first. When I did have food in my stomach, however, I felt fine.
I didn’t notice a whole lot of effects from these except some mood stabilization, and some clear headedness.
Unfortunately there are no lab test results for this product either, as far as I can tell. Emerald reached out to Pure for Life for the lab tests and did not receive a response by press time.

Pain Relief Lotion
30 ml airless bottle with 1000 mg of CBD
$64.99
The last product I tested was Pure for Life’s 1000 mg Active Lotion. There are a few different options such as Lavender Soothing Lotion, Peppermint Cooling Lotion, and Rosemary Wellness Lotion. I tried the Menthol Pain Relief version.
There are a variety of ingredients in the Active Lotion, a lot of which have benefits for pain relief like arnica oil, according to Web MD. It also contains sweet almond oil, which Healthline reports is good for the skin.
On the website there was actually a small description about this product and its intended use (pain relief). But again, there were no lab results.
The lotion comes out a yellow/white color with a very minty smell. It is super light and creamy to the touch. The menthol gives it a cooling effect that is noticeable instantly when applied to the skin. I recommend washing your hands after using it because that cooling effect lasts on your hands and can get into your eyes if you forget and rub them.
The lotion was very moisturizing and easy to rub in. It made my skin feel cool and smooth after application. I don’t personally have a lot of pain in any place on my body, so I gave it to a friend of mine who experiences knee pain. She reported that her pain was at about a five out of 10 before she tried it. After she applied the lotion, her pain disappeared almost entirely (to less than one) within 15-20 minutes. Her knee usually really bothers her, so because of this rating, I would have to recommend this product to people with joint pain.

Are Pure for Life Products Worth it?
The Pure for Life products themselves were decent. Both the tincture and the gels brought about the relaxing CBD effects that they should. The one that worked the best was the Active Lotion.
In terms of price points for these products, they were all on par with other infused tinctures, capsules and lotions. Although each is on the pricier end of the spectrum.
But the lack of test results anywhere was a big problem — and so was the general lack of information on their website. The company provided a lot of information on how their products were made, and about how natural they are. But, there wasn’t much to back up their claims. They also claimed that these products were full-spectrum or broad-spectrum. However, they didn’t list any cannabinoids other than CBD, and because of the lack of test results, there is no way to confirm.
