On Saturday, March 21, I attended RESET: A New Frequency, a two-hour neurosensory wellness experience at SHiFT in Midtown Manhattan, presented by NAR and Immaculate NYC.
The concept was simple, but not something you come across every day. RESET wasn’t framed as a workout, a workshop, or even a traditional meditation. Instead, it was positioned as a “state shift,” or a way to step out of constant overstimulation and give the nervous system space to recalibrate.
In a city where wellness events are everywhere, it takes something distinct to stand out.
RESET did so by leaning fully into sensory immersion. Rather than following a checklist of exercises, participants moved through a layered experience designed to slow down, draw attention inward, and reconnect with our bodies in a mindful, intentional way.

Breathwork and Somatic Yoga Flow
The first part of the experience was a 45-minute somatic yoga flow led by Krysten Victoria Gibbs. The session was slow, intentional, and quite grounding. Each movement invited a nice awareness of my body. Muscles I hadn’t realized were tense, or joints that had been stiff for a week, got some relief. The emphasis wasn’t on hitting a pose perfectly. Instead, it was on reconnecting with the body as a living, responsive system, rather than a machine to be pushed.
After yoga, we moved into guided breathwork with Chansz Odero of Conscious Development, a personal coach company. Soft-spoken instructions paired with subtle soundscapes helped anchor awareness to the rhythm of each inhale and exhale. I found that the combination of yoga and breathwork created a gentle momentum. It prepared the body for the deeper sensory layers to come. Even moments of wandering attention felt supported, as the pacing allowed me to ease back into focus without judgment.
Sonic Descent and Visual Immersion
The centerpiece of the event (at least for me) was Basia Blonska’s Sonic Descent. I’ve always had a soft spot for sound baths, but this felt like an expanded version of something I already love. Lying beneath blankets with an eye mask, the group was gradually enveloped in low-frequency sound waves and 360-degree immersive projections that moved across the walls, floor, and ceiling.
The room quickly transformed into a kind of sensory cocoon. The sound felt physical, as if it were moving through the body rather than around it. At moments, the vibrations were subtle and grounding; at others, they swelled and shifted, creating a sense of movement even while lying completely still.
The space itself—part of SHiFT’s expansive, tech-forward design—played a huge role in the experience. From the 360-degree projection mapping and spatial audio to the high-end lighting across multiple floors, every element of the venue enhanced the sensory journey.

Conscious Cacao
The experience concluded with a ceremonial cacao by Conscious Development.
Rich, slightly bitter, and warming, it anchored the transition back into the everyday world. I could feel a gentle lift in focus and calm energy, the effects subtle but noticeable.
Each cup of this cacao contains mood-supporting compounds such as theobromine, magnesium, tryptophan, and anandamide. All of these work together to promote emotional openness and steady energy.
We even received a thoughtfully curated goodie bag as a celebratory note to the closing ritual. The mix felt like a varied blend of wellness, beauty, and functional products that extended the experience beyond the room. Some of the goodies included:
- Sprout Living Vanilla Epic Protein Powder
- Of Them All Cooling & Calming Sheet Mask
- Neuro Energy & Focus gum
- The Qi Shangri La Rose
- nuun Sport Hydration Tablets
- NOBS Toothpaste Tablets
We were also able to keep the Manta sleep masks used during the sound bath, which felt like an especially generous touch. They’re built for complete light-blocking and deep rest (without any pressure on these eyes), and felt like something I’d actually keep using.
Takeaways
What struck me most about the NAR x Immaculate RESET event was how immersive design, intention, and human touches came together to create something greater than the sum of its parts. The careful pacing, attention to comfort, and small moments (like Tofu, the adorable dog greeting attendees at the end) reminded me that wellness can be both profound and playful.
Each element of the experience worked in concert to help the nervous system find balance and offered a rare opportunity to simply be. For anyone feeling overwhelmed by the constant demands of modern life, this was a deeply satisfying moment of presence and recalibration.
By the end, I left feeling lighter, more centered, and surprisingly energized, carrying a subtle sense of calm into the rest of my day. RESET wasn’t about achieving something tangible or checking a box; it was about allowing space for the body and mind to remember what ease feels like, even in the heart of a busy city.
