Many states have been fortunate enough to have legalized cannabis for medical and recreational use. Though Massachusetts was the first state to criminalize cannabis a century ago, the Bay State decriminalized possession in 2008. But by 2016, cannabis had become fully legal for recreational and medical use. Since, the state has seen a boom in dispensaries such as the New England Treatment Access LLC (NETA). NETA aims to provide the highest quality cannabis products for medical and recreational use.

NETA was started by a group of passionate innovators and philanthropists, and now has two locations in Massachusetts. NETA’s Brookline dispensary, the first Boston Metro Area dispensary, resides in a former bank building.

The Northampton shop claims to be the first Western Massachusetts dispensary, and both locations are consistently praised by reviewers. With about 4.5/5 stars on Leafly and Google, each location is characterized by its friendly staff, speedy order pickup, and wide selection of medical cannabis products. One review, placed in January, even claims that there was a line of 30 people waiting to enter NETA in Northampton.

NETA continues to innovate, constantly introducing new products. For instance, they grow over 50 strains and produce over 100 pharmaceutical cannabis therapies at their state-of-the-art growing facility.

Regularly, the dispensary menu includes six brands of topicals, edibles, vaporizers, concentrates and more. The company updates their menu daily on the website and also on social media for both locations. Importantly, NETA’s online selection displays a huge variety of cannabis products, with detailed descriptions of strains, THC/CBD percentage, and effects.

NETA’s flower ranges from $50-55 for 3.5 grams, and vape cartridges are $60 for 0.5 gram. Flower is $12 a gram on average in Massachusetts, and NETA’s flower is $14-15 for a gram. NETA even carries THC mints and candies—including delicious-looking chocolate bars with 100 mg of THC for $25. Even just looking at the online selection is mouth-watering and exciting—it might explain why NETA seems to be so popular with reviewers.

Dedicated to Giving Back

Though NETA’s selection of quality cannabis products is impressive, it is the commitment to social equity that sets NETA apart. In 2020, NETA awarded $25,000 to a pair of brothers so they could open their own adult-use cannabis warehouse.

NETA is also a founding member of CultivatED, a “Jail to Jobs” program that offers free legal resources, workforce preparedness training, and paid cannabis opportunities.

Additionally, the dispensary even offers three types of discount programs, including a program for financial hardship. For example, NETA Cares is the philanthropic subset of NETA,. It is dedicated to further upholding the tenets of “good citizenship and caring neighbors.” Their dedication to giving back to the community and those affected by the War on Drugs is truly admirable—not to mention their wide range of cannabis products.
