When it comes to anxiety, I find that CBD helps ease symptoms like a racing heart and shaky muscles. This week I tried two products from Chakra Xtracts to see if the company’s tincture or massage oil provided mood and muscle relief.
Chakra Xtracts manages all their own hemp production on farms in Colorado. The company also donates 2% of their sales to different charities including those dedicated to cancer research, disaster relief, housing for the homeless, and more. Their products are eco-friendly, and GMO and THC free. Additionally, a third-party lab tests all their products.
Chakra Xtracts’ CBD Tincture
1 fl. ounces Bottle 1000 mg CBD
$49.99-$124.99
The first product I tried was Chakra Xtracts’ Full-Spectrum CBD Tincture Oral Drops. The oil is available in 250 mg, 500 mg, 1000 mg, and 2000 mg options.
Each 1 fl. ounce blue glass bottle comes with a childproof dropper cap and a recommended dosage of 1 ml, which contains about 33 mg of CBD. The dropper itself has markings for .25 ml-1 ml servings, so consumers can use however much they desire while still knowing how much they are taking.
The ingredients include Chakra Xtracts’ full-spectrum CBD oil, and Organic Fractionated Coconut oil (MCT oil). WebMD says that many people use MCT oil for appetite control, weight loss, and inflammation — though there is not enough research to confirm whether or not it does work for those purposes.
This tincture has almost no taste or smell. There is the smallest hint of coconut oil but it is barely there. The directions say to hold it under the tongue for up to 1 minute so it can absorb quickly. With other CBD oils I have tried in the past, the taste can make it difficult to keep under my tongue, or make me want to drink water to wash it down. But because of the lack of taste in this one, there was little need to wash the taste out of my mouth.
Some CBD oils can mess with my stomach, causing gas or general discomfort. But I didn’t notice any of that with this oil. I often use CBD oil to help with symptoms of anxiety, such as escalated heart rate or muscle shakes, and to boost relaxation and mood. The Chakra Xtracts’ CBD Tincture helped me relax and focus. I really enjoyed the lack of taste in this product, and I find myself choosing this one over other CBD oils I own for that reason. This is easy to take on the go too without worrying about having something to wash it down with or clear the taste from my mouth.
The CBD Tincture’s Test Results
The test results for Chakra Xtracts’ 500 mg CBD oil are available on the company’s website. However, they are from 2019. Those lab results show that there is actually about 581 mgs of CBD in the bottle, or 16% more CBD than advertised. They also show the product is free of mycotoxins and pesticides.
I reached out to the company for recent lab results for the 1,000 mg bottle. I did not hear back by press time. Therefore, I cannot confirm if the product is properly labeled as a full-spectrum blend with 1,000 mg CBD.

Chakra Xtracts’ MediRub CBD Massage Oil
40 ounce bottle 500 mg CBD
$49.99
The other product I tried was Chakra Xtracts’ 500 mg MediRub CBD Massage Oil. It comes in a 4 ounce blue plastic bottle. It is made up of a variety of oils including a nut-free massage oil blend, an emulsifier, full-spectrum CBD oil, and lavender essential oil.
The CBD Massage Oil is also supposed to be lavender scented, but I wasn’t getting much of a scent at all. As such, Chakra Xtracts should probably take off the lavender scent label altogether. In fact, after I applied it, it actually had more of a plastic scent.
The massage oil went onto the skin very easily, and it left my skin feeling smooth and moisturized. It made my skin glisten without making it feel slippery or oily. My skin gleamed for hours afterward too. As such, I recommend the oil to those who want hydrated skin with an extra shine.
Due to COVID-19, I don’t have anyone to test this on or to massage it on me, so I used it on my arms the day after an arm workout. I massaged one arm with the oil and did nothing with the other arm. I was pleasantly surprised to notice a difference in the way my arms felt. The arm I applied the oil to was less sore after I rubbed the oil on it. It didn’t completely take the pain away, but it is supposed to soothe aching muscles and it did just that.
The Massage Oil’s Test Results
The product’s current test results confirm that it has about 502 mg of CBD and no THC. However, the company’s website says their massage oil contains a full-spectrum formula, meaning it should feature all of the hemp plant’s naturally occurring compounds, including terpenes and other cannabinoids. However, lab tests show there are no other cannabinoids aside from CBD. Additionally, the results offer no clarity on whether or not it contains terpenes.
I think this would be a great product to use for relaxing massages with a partner after a workout or a long day. Although, it might not be ideal for those who want their skin to smell good afterwards.

Worth it?
Overall, I liked these products. Chakra Xtracts’ website is also fairly informative. It even has a representative available to chat online with consumers, which I haven’t seen very often from cannabis companies. Though when I attempted to use this feature and contact a representative, no one replied.
Furthermore, the website includes pictures of the product test results (however, some are outdated). There is also a section for each product that explains what it is, how it’s made, and how consumers can use it. I felt that the prices were higher in comparison to other CBD products on the market. But as of right now (March 3rd, 2021), the company is offering every product for a significant discount on their website.
