There’s nothing like a summer jam, but they don’t always make them like they used to. This time around, we’ve got a few contenders for hot girl summer favorite, and one of ours is a delectable treat by Moon Boots and Steven Klavier, the cheekily titled “Tied Up”, simultaneously sweet and spicy.
With a flavor of the 90s that delivers on substance and style, it’s no simple throwback attempt—this is a genuine homage that nails all of the elements of a disco delight. A song like this shreds the idea of time, making you feel like you’re in another era, floating your way through a joint of Versace Cookies and a dark dance floor at Limelight.
Moon Boots produced the track with just the right amount of nu dance cymbal and pulse, seasoned with softer house keys on the top note. To us, it’s the divine vocals lift it up to a place where every listener can follow—not just the electronic music fans among us.
Vocalist Steven Klavier
The not-so-sneaky S&M connotation’s double entendre reads upbeat and airy, and you’ll be singing along and queuing to be tied up before the first chorus is through. Klavier invokes 90s house divas but without breaking the meniscus, instead you get their more relaxed, direct delivery with a baby falsetto on the bridge that gets stuck in your head for days—but we’re not mad about it.
“Tied up” is the first release off of Moon Boots’ forthcoming album Bimini Road on Anjunadeep Records, and now you have an amuse bouche to go off of, so pre order today, or purchase “Tied Up” on Apple Music for the first taste.
