A Sneak Peak into Maribis Dispensary of Chicago and Springfield, Illinois

April 3, 2021 by Emily Kernoschak Leave a Comment

View of Maribis Dispensary

When thinking of Chicago, usually the mind wanders to Chicago-style hotdogs, deep dish pizzas, bold architecture, and now cannabis dispensaries. On January 1st 2020, Illinois legalized recreational cannabis use. It was the 11th state in the U.S. to do so, and the first to legalize legislatively. With 37 dispensaries now located throughout the state of Illinois, according to US News, the Maribis of Chicago Dispensary may stand out as the next attraction for cannabis consumers in Illinois.

About Maribis Dispensaries

Maribis is located in Southwest Chicago and in the Grandview community of Springfield. Lawyer Laurel Dineff founded the company, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Maribis is also affiliated with the licensed cultivators, Bedford Grow, which Dineff also owns, according to the publication.

The dispensary currently serves both medical and recreational consumers. However, they originally launched their medical cannabis shop in 2016. Due to the introduction of adult-use cannabis in Illinois, they welcomed recreational sales in 2020, shortly after officials passed the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act.

Funding the Future Industry Workforce and Community Colleges

The company supports education in Illinois through their Maribis Beverly Dineff Memorial Scholarship fund, named in honor of Laurel Dineff’s sister.

The fund provides resources to students, such as helping with the costs of fees, books and tuition. For example, in February 2021, Maribis donated $80,000 in scholarship funds to Oakton Community College’s (OCC) cannabis program. The college, which is based in Des Plaines and Skokie, is the state’s first community college to offer a medical cannabis program, according to OCC.

Emerald reached out for further information about Maribis’ individual efforts, especially in regards to social equity. But we did not hear back by press time.

What Products and Deals Should Visitors Expect?

Maribis employees help guide consumers to the best option for their individual’s needs, according to Mama’s Ganja, a platform that educates users on legal, licensed cannabis operators.

Corresponding to that, customer reviews on Weedmaps reflect that Maribis keeps their promise by providing excellent service.

Consumers can shop at Maribis Dispensaries online or in-store, and for pick-up. They run weekly deals that may peak interest to cannabis consumers. Starting off the week they have Munchie Monday, Two for Tuesday, Wax Wednesday, Therapeutic Thursday, Flash Friday, Shatterday Saturday, Sunday Fundaze. For example, consumers get $10 off 1 gram of wax on Wax Wednesdays.

On their website, visitors can find medical card assistance and a wide variety of products from different brands. Maribis carries everything from flower, to tinctures, to cartridges.

Countless reviews on Leafy show that customers are truly blown away by the selection Maribis provides in each store. The feature brands including Bedford Grow, Rhythm, PTS, and more.

Overall, Maribis of Chicago and Springfield are both dedicated to helping consumers feel their best.

As the number of retail shops in Illinois progressively increases, the question is — what will dispensaries offer to plant enthusiasts next?
