As 2018 Farm Bill Momentum Rises, HIA is ‘Charting The Course’
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — The Hemp Industries Association, a 501(c)(6) non-profit dedicated since 1994 to the education, equality, and expansion of industrial hemp, will hold its annual membership-only general meeting on Friday, November 2nd followed by the conference and tradeshow open to all on Saturday, November 3rd through Monday, November 5th in Los Angeles. Now in its 25th year, the HIACON convention will feature eight education tracks including: Retail & Market, Health, Product Innovation, Law & Policy, Standards & Regulations, Processing, Agronomy, and Plant Genetics. Co-founder of the recently buzzed about innovation company Space Tango, Kris Kimel is one of the many celebrated speakers cued up to present.
The highly-anticipated event, held at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport, will bring together over 400 attendees (cultivators, stakeholders, buyers), more than 55 speakers and industry thought leaders, and hemp and CBD-focused sponsors like this year’s presenting sponsor Charlotte’s Web, premier sponsor GenCannaas well as others like US Hemp Roundtable, CV Sciences, Hoban Law Group, Functional Remedies, Cannopy Corporation, Bija Hemp, Dr. Bronner’s, Made by Hemp, Bluebird Botanicals, and KLERSUN. The 4-day, appropriately themed, Charting the Course convention is set to kick off on Friday, November 2nd with its annual members-only general meeting. The event shall feature a Retail-focused Exhibit Hall Day on Saturday, November 3rd open to the public. The convention will continue exhibitions, keynotes, and eight educational tracks Sunday and Monday. Keynote topics range from regenerative agriculture, quality assurance for hemp derivatives and international market potential and mainstreaming beyond CBD. Other hot topic discussions include: hemp in space, the future of U.S. hemp, hemp genomics, expanded talks of the 2018 Farm Bill, and a 25th anniversary panel.
