Iaso Goods: Raising Industry Standards

Iaso Goods reinvented the wheel to create a grinder that is safer, easier to use and more durable than others on the market.

The company’s name reflects their mission to encourage consumers to be health conscious about the tools they are using. Iaso Goods is named after Iaso, the Greek goddess of health, nurturing and recuperation.

Founded in 2017, Iaso Goods claims to be the first company to create a 100% food-grade stainless steel herb grinder.

“We cook with stainless steel knives […], so why can’t we handle our cannabis in the same way?” said Jamie De Leon, Iaso Goods employee.

Materials Matter: Benefits of Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel is a heavy duty metal that lasts a lifetime.

Unlike other materials, stainless steel grinders will not affect the flavor of cannabis or degrade and create metal shavings, according to De Leon.

Traditional grinders are made of lower quality materials like aluminum, resin or plastic.

Aluminum is a soft metal. Therefore, it has a shorter lifespan than stainless steel and can produce metal shaving in consumer’s cannabis.

De Leon explains that overtime this aluminum can build up in the body and cause health concerns.

A recent study found that aluminum, even in small amounts, can have negative effects on the body. It can affect the immune system, reproductive system, the brain and the gastrointestinal tract, just to name a few side effects. It is also classified as a neurotoxin.

Aside from health risks, stainless steel outperforms aluminum and other materials in nearly every category. For example, stainless steel does not dent, dull or rust. It is more scratch resistant than other materials, corrosion resistant and is extremely durable. It is also aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean with rubbing alcohol or in the dishwasher safe.

“Overall, the grinder is just a more pleasant experience than a cheaper aluminum grinder,” De Leon said.

By using durable, quality materials, Iaso Goods grinders are made to last a lifetime. The company even offers a lifetime warranty.

The Design

Along with utilizing quality materials, Iaso Goods created a new, higher functioning design.

Their grinders include a labyrinth seal feature, which ensures the top sections do not stick together. This makes it a great option for cannabis consumers with arthritis or reduced mobility.

“It is really for anyone who wants to elevate their overall experience health wise or functionality wise,” De Leon explained.

The manufacturing branch of Iaso Goods falls under Purple Fox Engineering. Their products are influenced by Purple Fox Engineering’s aerospace design and material expertise.

“I think that is also what makes Iaso Goods so unique. They are not just taking a design that has already been done. They want to really reinvent the wheel to create a higher functioning grinder using design influences from other industries,” De Leon said.

The company is constantly testing new designs and materials like titanium to ensure their products are the best on the market.

Quality Over Quantity

To ensure the functionality and quality of their products, they utilize small batch manufacturing.

Iaso Goods is a strong believer that bigger units equals decreased quality.

Their products are all designed and manufactured in Vermont. “We really support the idea of U.S. manufacturing and keeping innovation within our country. (We) support small local businesses and small batch manufacturing,” De Leon said.

Consequently, Iaso Goods’ products are only sold online and at small local businesses in Vermont.

Their pricing reflects this attention to detail in materials, manufacturing and design. However, consumers save money in the long run because Iaso grinders last longer than other products on the market.

Conscious Consumerism

By investing in an Iaso Goods grinder, consumers also reduce the amount of waste they produce.

Traditional grinders are not as durable as stainless steel grinders, and therefore customers need to replace them more often. Iaso Goods grinders, on the other hand, last a lifetime and customers never need to replace them due to normal wear and tear.

In addition, Iaso Goods uses environmentally conscious packaging. For example, they pack their products in novelty wooden boxes that customers can  recycle or reuse for decoration and storage.

They also do not use any plastic in their packaging.

“Our packaging reflects how we want to limit waste in the industry,” De Leon explains.

This highlights Iaso Goods’ commitment to furthering the cannabis industry in every way possible including by reducing its environmental impact.

The Products

Knowing all of this, it is no surprise that consumers have nothing but good things to say about Iaso Goods’ products.

“The absolute best grinder out there. I bought the 1.75 3-piece one, and I absolutely love it. Expertly and thoughtfully designed and machined. […] Truly for distinguished consumers who want only the best,” said one satisfied customer.

Aside from grinders in various sizes, Iaso Goods offers wooden rolling trays, chillums, one-hitters and a storage case.

The company and its customers alike encourage consumers to experience the difference of Iaso Goods’ products.
