Nevada’s Democratic nominee for governor Steve Sisolak sat down with Bruce Barcott, editor of Leafly and host of The Roll-Up podcast, to discuss the Silver State’s budding cannabis industry.
Sisolak is the first candidate for public office outside of Leafly’s home state of Washington to join the podcast in the lead up to this November’s elections. In the interview they discuss the industry’s growth, tax revenue, and other facts that make Nevada and its cannabis culture unique.
You can listen to the full interview here (Steve joins around the 24:50 mark).

The Roll-Up #51: Viva Las Vegas — Meet the Next Governor
We tend to be one-issue voters here at The Roll-Up: Are you for legalization, or against it? Steve Sisolak, the current chair of the Clark County Commission, is running for Nevada governor and he’s all for legal, well-regulated cannabis.
He sees it as a great job-creating industry, and he’s confident his state can regulate it better than any other. (See under: gaming, experience, lots of it.)
His opponent, current Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, was against adult-use legalization in 2016 and has barely lifted a finger to defend it against Jeff Sessions in the past two years.
