A weekend of, ehem, poor choices can leave a person wondering if physical and mental recovery is possible again. I recently spent one entire gloomy 24-hour period in bed, feeling as though I may never remember what it’s like to not have a headache. Just when I was ready to throw in the towel and sleep for the rest of my life, like a gift from the Gods, I looked to my bedside table to find that I had stashed a few Shanti Wellness CBD products there a few days before.
I staggered self-treatment from different blends throughout my bedridden period, starting with the Rejuvenate Roll On. The whole 5 ounce glass bottle contains 100mg of CBD, and comes in a cooling blend of essential oils including sage, rosemary, eucalyptus, lime, and peppermint—all of which I am a strong supporter.
The smell alone made me feel more centered. The effects of roll-ons are best experienced when placed on the body’s pressure points, and as instructed, I dabbed some on my temples, behind my ears, and inside my wrists. Cooling blend, indeed. I instantly felt frosty-fresh in each of those areas, and my focus was turned away from my pounding head and more toward the tingle of the marriage of the essential oils and CBD. A match made in hangover heaven.
Next in line was the Balance Relax and Restore tincture, which delivers a concoction of Hemp derived CBD, MCT oil, and Peppermint. If you’re unfamiliar with MCT, it stands for medium-chain triglyceride, and it’s essentially a fat source with many-a benefit. The key here, however, is that it’s a fast-acting energy source.
Shanti’s packaging is mostly black with thin slivers of iridescent pink, and a signature label of white floral sketching. It’s minimal, which is great when you’re not in the headspace to look at anything busy. What really stood out to me, though, was that the dropper comes labeled with the amount of milligrams you intake with each squeeze, a detail many other tinctures overlook. It helps to know exactly how much CBD you’re ingesting, and I appreciated that with Shanti. I shook the bottle, placed it under my tongue, and let it do its thing.
By this point, I was almost feeling like a normal human being again—relaxed, rejuvenated, and, yes, balanced. Last on the healing list was the Restore Body Butter, which promised eucalyptus and peppermint. Again, if the smell of soothing eucalyptus doesn’t transport you to your happy place, I don’t know what will. I lathered up in the stuff, literally head to toe, and soaked in its restorative promise. I have to say, I smelled amazing.
Shanti’s line is probably meant for people who need to heal after an hour-long Yoga class, not for irresponsible 20-somethings who need to get their lives together, I know. In no way do I condone acting a fool on a Saturday night and relying heavily on any magical CBD potion to pull you out of a deep hole on Sunday. But somehow I felt like I had had a movement therapy sesh instead of an all-night bender after trying these Shanti Wellness products. Ah, the power of cannabis.
