Sportin Cannabis: Brett Botelho, Paralympic Snowboarder

May 4, 2021 by William Smith Leave a Comment

Sportin Cannabis

Welcome to Sportin’ Cannabis with host, William Smith. This series explores the word of athletics, and how cannabis fits into it. Smith interviews athletes who detail their personal and professional experiences with cannabis and CBD.

On this episode of Sportin’ Cannabis, host William Smith speaks with Brett Botelho, a Paralympic snowboarder. Botelho tells listeners about the injuries that shaped his future, and using CBD for recovery. He also tells Emerald that he never expected to get into the cannabis space. He never used it when he was younger, and his parents labeled it “taboo.” But that all changed after his first leg amputation. “Doing independent research, if it worked, how it would help my pain, and two years after the surgery it was a matter of trial and error to see what would work best,” said Botelho. Cannabis is now part of his daily routine. Botelho even says it’s a “game changer” for him when he prepares to compete.
