The Forest Sandusky served the first patient in Ohio at 9am today
SANDUSKY, Ohio, Jan. 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — At 9am today, Ynez Henningsen, a multiple sclerosis patient and first-time cannabis consumer, became the first patient in Ohio to be served by the state’s medical marijuana program. Henningsen made the state’s first legal purchase at The Forest in Sandusky, Ohio.
“This is a very exciting day for the thousands of Ohioans who will benefit from having access to medical marijuana,” said Henningsen. “It is an honor to be part of such a vital program.”
Henningsen is a veteran of the United States Air Force and currently serves as Special Projects Manager for Standard Wellness Company, LLC.
“We’re incredibly proud to be the first company in Ohio to serve patients. This was a milestone, not just for Ohio’s medical marijuana program, but for all Ohioans. We look forward to serving patients across the state,” said Erik Vaughan, CEO of The Forest and Standard Wellness.
The Forest is the sister company of Standard Wellness, a level I cultivator and processor located in Gibsonburg, Ohio. Together they form the state’s first fully vertically integrated medical marijuana company. This vertical integration gives the company the unique ability to track the full life cycle of its products, so it can maintain the highest quality, consistency and safety standards.
Standard Wellness expects its first products to hit dispensary shelves this spring, with a full spectrum of medical marijuana products available to patients later this year.
