4 Things to Know About CBD Consumer Behavior in 2022

Cannabis is one of the fastest growing industries. In less than a decade, since Colorado legalized recreational use in 2014, it has become a multi-billion dollar industry. However, despite growing at a fast pace, it is still a relatively new industry, so the consumer market is also continuously evolving.

Here are some important things to know about CBD consumer behavior for 2022:

  1. Comfort in Consumption

As more people have become aware of the therapeutic properties of CBD, the demand for products has increased. From drinks, edibles, and tinctures to cosmetics, oils to bedspreads– CBD is literally coming in every form. That’s a good sign because it increases consumers’ choice of buying CBD products. They can buy these products from online stores, like Happy Garden.

However, now consumers are looking for ease of consumption, i.e., a consumption method that can help them consume CBD anywhere without looking odd. For example, they can’t use CBD tincture in a subway without gathering some eyeballs. Or they can’t use CBD patches in a family gathering. So, they are looking for discreet methods for CBD consumption that can help them consume CBD anywhere without leaving behind a topic of discussion for others.

  1. Consumers Awareness is Increasing

Previously, it was hard to find an informed consumer with the right knowledge, like the difference between CBD isolates and full-spectrum CBD. Most consumers used to buy CBD products just to know why it is everywhere on the Reddit community or is it real. However, now things have changed. Most buyers have become more aware than before. They don’t ask budtenders if CBD will make them high or not. They ask more educated questions to buy the right product.

This has also made things difficult for fake sellers because it has become difficult for them to fool buyers. They can’t fool people by selling products at a cheap rate because now, buyers ask them for certificates of analysis, methods of extraction, and a lot more. So, dear CBD industry, be prepared. Your consumer knows what he wants!

  1. CBD for Everyone

Gone are the days when CBD was considered a product just for adults with different ailments, like depression, epilepsy, pain, anxiety, insomnia, inflammation, alzheimer, etc. But now, this perception is changing, and people are giving CBD to their children and pets as well. You can easily find CBD treats for cats and CBD products for children in departmental stores and online shops. CBD also shows positive health impacts on pets and children. So, no wonder people are giving it to their furry buddies and babies.

  1. Surge in Consumption

The pandemic era saw a surge in CBD consumption. Those who were not consuming CBD started consuming it, and those who were already consuming it started consuming more. Around 42% increase was observed in CBD consumption in 2020. Since then, the CBD consumption rate has increased, and people of different ages have started consuming it. 2022 will also be the year of increase in CBD popularity and consumption. So, the CBD industry should be ready to meet the increased demand for CBD products that is at its all-time high.

Final Words

After a long battle, cannabis for medical purposes has become legal. The legalization of CBD products has given rise to CBD consumption and selling of CBD. But with the proliferation of CBD in the consumer market, the CBD industry also needs to evolve to cater to the consumer’s demands. In the future, we expect to see new products according to the consumers’ requirements, an increase in production level, and different types of CBD for people of different age groups.

So, best of luck to the CBD industry and consumers! Wish to see a thriving CBD industry for all the right reasons.
