This week I tried three different PureNectar CBD products: a CBD oil, lip balm, and a salve stick.
PureNectar is a hemp company started by athletes who wanted to share the magic of CBD with the world. Cannabis has many health benefits, a main one being pain relief. Because many sports teams drug test their athletes, making sure athletes and others could still get the health benefits of cannabis without THC showing up on those tests is very important. Luckily, CBD is completely undetectable on drug tests.
PureNectar’s cannabinoid-rich products are THC-free. Many are made with broad-spectrum hemp oil, which means they contain a variety of naturally-occurring plant compounds — except for THC. The company’s products are also organic, lab-tested, non-GMO, and cruelty-free.
Orange Zest CBD Oil
1 fl. ounce, 1,500 mg of CBD
$99
The first product I tried was PureNectar’s 1,500 mg bottle of Orange Zest CBD oil. It comes in a 1 fl. ounce tinted glass bottle with a childproof dropper on top. The dropper has markings from .25 ml to 1 ml so users can calculate how much CBD they want. The recommended serving is 1 dropper full (50 mg) twice daily or as needed.
The list of ingredients is short and sweet: medium-chain triglycerides from 100% coconut oil (MCT), cannabis sativa seed oil, phytocannabinoid-rich hemp extract, orange zest, and orange oil.
Both coconut oil and cannabis sativa seed oil, aka hemp seed oil, boast benefits for the skin. Hemp seed oil does not contain THC or CBD. Instead, the hemp extract is what provides the formula with a variety of cannabinoids.
PureNectar provides the lab results for each product directly on its website, and the amount of CBD listed is relatively accurate. According to the CBD oil’s lab test results, there are about 50.9 mgs of CBD and .14 mgs of CBC per serving, or about 1,527 mg of CBD and 4.2 mg of CBC per bottle. The results also confirmed there was no THC. No other cannabinoids were present, and there were no results for terpene profiles.
According to Leafly, both CBD and CBC have been used to help fight depression, acne, pain/inflammation, and even cancer.
When I opened the bottle, I was met with the sweet scent of orange zest. The oil is thin, almost watery. While it smells and tastes like orange zest, it is not overpowering. I usually despise orange zest especially on deserts, but the subtle flavor pleasantly surprised me. Unlike many other CBD oils I’ve tried, this one did not have an earthy or cannabis-like taste.
I felt relaxed after I used one dropper full of the oil. I often use CBD oil to ease symptoms of anxiety, like a racing heart and I rather enjoyed the calm I felt after consuming this oil. It did bring down my heart rate after about five minutes. I don’t experience chronic pain, but reviews on PureNectar’s site state that this oil has reduced some consumers’ pain by 80%. However, I often have dull backaches from sitting in a chair all day. I did notice that that pain was non-existent at least at the time I am writing this article. It also made me drowsy, and I wanted to stretch a lot.

Wild Cherry CBD Lip Balm
.5 ounce tin 100 mg of CBD
$9.00
The next product I tried was PureNectar’s CBD-infused Wild Cherry Lip Balm. It is made with beeswax, hemp seed oil, and essential oils.
The product’s lab results showed that there were about 103.8 mgs of CBD in the balm. However, no other cannabinoids were present, so unlike the oil, it only contains CBD.
The lip balm tasted and smelled like cherry, though the flavor was hardly there. Personally, I prefer a more noticeable flavor.
The texture was surprisingly rough. In fact, I found it difficult to get much product onto my finger to then apply to my lips. I also personally dislike lip products that require me to apply with my fingers. That’s because I need chapstick/lip balm all throughout the day, and I don’t always have an opportunity to wash my hands before applying the lip balm. I just find it very inconvenient.
The lip balm felt dry to me. I didn’t feel like it was particularly hydrating to my lips, and found myself having to reapply it often. I would say I reapplied after 45 minutes to an hour. It tasted good and felt fine, but I found it to be underwhelming. I would like a little more long-lasting hydration from a lip balm.

Cooling Relief Salve Stick
2.6 ounces 1,200 mg of CBD
$65
The last product I tested was the 1,200 mg Cooling Relief Salve Stick in the Arctic Breeze scent. There is a long list of ingredients including beeswax, avocado oil, and camphor bark oil, which according to Healthline helps relieve pain.
The product’s lab test results are available on PureNectar’s website as well. They state that there is about 1,278 mgs of CBD per container. Like the lip balm, there are no other cannabinoids — only CBD.
The relief salve comes in a stick that looks like a deodorant. It smells rather minty. The application was a little odd. The stick made it difficult to apply to places that weren’t completely flat, like my knee or elbow. The salve itself was also rather hard, which made it hard to apply.
I do not have a lot of body pain to test this product on, so I gave this product to a friend of mine who experiences knee pain. Within 15 minutes it took my friend’s knee pain from a four out of five down to a one. But applying it to the knee was difficult, and she much prefers a cream to the stick.
The salve seemed to effectively treat pain, but the stick just doesn’t seem practical. As such, I think it would work better if it came in a jar.

Is PureNectar Worth the Price?
The pricing is fair for both the CBD oil and the lip balm. The price of the oil is even a bit below average. Although the balm is also reasonably priced for its size, there are more affordable hemp or CBD-infused chapsticks on the market. But I found the pricing of the pain relief salve to be on the higher end. There are many pain relief products out there that are cheaper.
Overall, PureNectar provides the lab test results for each product, and each lab test showed that the amount of CBD advertised per product was accurate. I would recommend these products because they do work. I just wish that the salve and the lip balm were packaged differently. The company should switch the lip balm and the salve packaging.
