This week I tried out Eossi’s Facial Glow Oil #8. After experimenting with several different oils, I was curious to see how this rich blend and high CBD content oil would pair with my acne-prone skin. Each bottle contains 1,000 mg of CBD, 20 mg per full dropper, and is priced at $49.95.
Deep Dive into Ingredients:
Argan Oil: According to Cosmopolitan, argan oil can improve the look of fine lines as well as help lighten dark spots over time. It can also potentially decrease oil production.
Grapeseed oil: Aside from providing moisture to the skin, this oil can also even out your skin tone because of its antioxidant properties. It’s also anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, according to Healthline.
Rosehip Oil: This oil is good for quick absorption into the skin and helps aid in anti-aging, and healing the skin with a high concentration of vitamins, reports Byrdie.
Coconut Oil: According to Cosmopolitan, coconut oil is a rich moisturizer and has antibacterial properties.
Vitamin E: According to Allure, vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and can help prevent skin damage.
CBD: The cannabinoid is especially useful for those suffering with acne as it can reduce the amount of sebum production in your skin. Here is a full guide on how CBD can help your skin.
Frankincense, Myrrh, and Jasmine: These essential oils are added for their fragrant properties. Frankincense is shown to have anti-aging properties. According to Botanical Republic, Myrrh has anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties that can be beneficial to the skin.
Jasmine can be useful in healing blemishes and scars, reports Women’s Health.
The Smell:
Sometimes the smell of a product can make or break your experience with it. The smell of this oil is strong, but not overpowering. For those with skin that is sensitive to fragrance and essential oils, this product could cause irritation. After applying it to your face, the smell tends to drift away after an hour or two. Definitely do a patch test on your arm or neck if you aren’t sure how your skin will react to the fragrance or specific oils.
The Feel:
One nice thing about this oil is that it quickly melts into the skin and doesn’t leave a greasy film behind like other facial oil blends on the market. Instead, it gives the skin a healthy glow with minimal product.
After experimenting with different amounts, I found it takes only three drops to fully moisturize your skin and avoid the greasy look.
Unfortunately, this facial oil broke me out, and I suspect it has to do with the coconut oil mixed in. Coconut oil is comedogenic, meaning it can easily clog your pores and lead to an acne flare up. If you don’t have a sensitivity to coconut oil, this mix might work for you. You can also try using this once every few days and judge your reaction to it.
Is it Eossi’s Facial Glow Oil worth it?
For the amount of product you get and the rich blend of oils, this product is worth it. Especially since you don’t need much of the oil to get the rich moisturizing factors, it can easily last you over a year. I tested this product for three weeks daily and hardly made a dent in it. It also has an impressive amount of cannabinoids that resemble more of a strong tincture than a simple CBD oil.
The company also makes a point to give back: it sends eight meals to the Food Bank of the Rockies for every bottle sold.
Overall, this facial glow oil didn’t quite give me the glow up I desired. But it did have a lot to offer for someone with less sensitive skin.
