Coffee Addict Reviews Humblemaker Coffee Company

December 10, 2020 by Claire Covino Leave a Comment

Coffee is one of the things that makes the world go ‘round. Even if you don’t drink it, you know how much people love their coffee. Java drinker or not, you also know how important it is to support small, ethical businesses now more than ever. Enter the Humblemaker Coffee Company: the coffee roasters for a good cause.

About Them

Humblemaker offers coffee by the bean and by the wellness shot (the first of its kind). They roast their coffee right here in California and they donate 10% of their profits to Autism organizations. If you like to speak with your dollar, you can’t feel bad about supporting Humblemaker.

The non-profit they created, called Ten for Autism, raises funds to sponsor events that help autistic children experience joys of the outdoors, surfing and music in a therapy-based immersive environment. They also support other autism foundations and events around Los Angeles.

The Beans

I tried the Tanzania Mbeya flavor of their whole bean coffee, which has notes of pear, jasmine and sweet berry. I prepared it in a drip coffee machine and in a cold coffee brewer. Both ways, it had a smooth, mild flavor. It is a light roast coffee, so the taste is on the mild side with a sweet and fruity undertone.

If you feel like fruit and coffee flavors wouldn’t mesh well, don’t let that stop you — in this blend, they compliment each other and neither overpowers the other.

If you’re like me, you aren’t too picky when it comes to roasts and blends, so I can’t attest to the complexities of the flavor profile. I can, however, tell you that if you are a flavor snob (in the best way), rest assured because Humblemaker offers 12 different flavors across the roast spectrum (is that a thing?). If all of their flavors are as good as this one, I don’t think you’ll have a hard time finding one you like.

You can buy their coffee by the bean at $18 for 12 ounces on their website or at their shops in Seal Beach, Ventura and Del Rey, California.

The Brews

They also offer cold brew shots, which are for you if you’re ever on the go, into health and wellness, or in the mood for a strong cold brew. So.. that’s everyone at some point, right?

We reviewed their cold brew shots here. They’re packed with different blends of nutrients and vitamins to boost your immune and cognitive health. They didn’t bode the best review from us, but you should give them a shot (no pun intended) if a health shot cold brew combo sounds like something that’s up your alley. They’re available in four different flavors — you can get the sample pack for $15 for all four flavors here.

This holiday season, try to shop small as much as you can and choose wisely where to spend your money. Humblemaker Coffee Company is not only a great business to support, but their products are also a great gift for any coffee drinker. Those cold brew shots are definitely going on my list!
