FLORA + BAST takes a full-spectrum approach to skincare—inside and out. Their ethos centers on using high-quality, natural ingredients that are sustainably sourced and preserved to maintain their potency.
When I first came across the brand, I was intrigued by their focus on cannabinoid-based wellness for acne-prone skin and decided to put three of their products to the test: the Clarifying Facial Cleanser, Clarifying Facial Treatment (with Hydrosol), and Clear Skin Nutraceutical Gummies.
The Cleanser: A Potent Start
Clarifying Facial Cleanser Concentrate
$33
100 mg CBD
I started by swapping my daily cleanser for the Clarifying Facial Cleanser Concentrate. It’s olive oil-based, fortified with CBD, CBC, and a blend of botanical oils. The first time I used it, I noticed how rich and foamy it got—more than I expected from a natural formula. That usually signals trouble for my oily skin, but I was surprised to find it didn’t completely strip me. Still, I had to scale back the amount I used to avoid that tight, squeaky-clean feeling. Once I found the right amount, it worked well to keep breakouts at bay and calm the usual redness around my nose and chin.
What sets this cleanser apart is its ultra-clean, minimal ingredient list. It includes organic coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, and hemp extract, all of which are known for being gentle yet effective for skin prone to congestion or irritation. It also features terpenes like α-Pinene and γ-Terpinene—potential antimicrobial compounds that go deeper into the skin to help clear things up without being overly harsh. The CBD and CBC may help reduce inflammation and balance oil production, which I definitely noticed over time.
I wouldn’t call it hydrating, exactly, but it creates a solid foundation for layering on more nourishing products without gunking up pores.

The Treatment Duo: Balanced but a bit Finicky
Sooth + Hydrate Hydrosol Spray
$44
Clarifying Facial Treatment
$88
500mg CBG // 500mg CBD
Next up was the Clarifying Facial Treatment, used alongside the Soothe + Hydrate Hydrosol spray. While it may seem counterintuitive to apply oil to the face, especially for those with oily or combination skin, the right oils can actually help regulate sebum production and reinforce the skin barrier, leading to better balance overall.
The instructions recommend misting first, then applying a “liberal amount” of the oil while the skin is still damp. I followed this method religiously for several weeks, usually in the evening. The texture of the oil was surprisingly lightweight, but on days when I used a bit too much cleanser beforehand, I found myself needing five to eight drops just to bring hydration back into balance.
When it worked, it really worked, especially after that awkward first week of adjusting. My skin felt smoother, looked a little brighter, and the stubborn congestion on my temples started to fade. I especially appreciated that this oil didn’t clog my pores, which has been my biggest issue with facial oils in the past.

The Gummies: Support From the Inside
Clear Skin Nutraceutical Gummies
$50
20 mg CBD per gummy
I also tried the Clear Skin Nutraceutical Gummies, formulated with 20 mg of pro-retinol, 10 mg of tocotrienol (a form of vitamin E), and 25 mg of CBD per gummy. These are designed to support skin health from within by targeting systemic inflammation and helping to regulate oil production—two key factors in breakouts. I took one gummy daily after dinner. While it’s always tough to isolate the impact of a supplement, I did notice my skin felt calmer and less reactive over time.
The flavor leans slightly herbal but still candy-adjacent, and they’re vegan—something I always appreciate. The label doesn’t specify the exact number of gummies per bottle, but based on size and usage, I’d estimate around 60.

The Real Talk: Are They Worth it?
FLORA + BAST products are an investment. The Clarifying Facial Treatment alone is $88, the cleanser runs $33, and the gummies are $50 per bottle. That said, I’ve been using the oil once a day for over a month, and the bottle still looks nearly full. The products are highly concentrated, so a little really does go a long way.
But here’s the thing: skincare is deeply personal. What works for one person might not for another, and spending big money on products that don’t click can be frustrating. Thankfully, this lineup worked pretty well for me. My skin felt more even, less oily in the T-zone, and way fewer breakouts popped up during the month I used them consistently.
Test Results
The brand advertises all products as lab-tested, and they recently provided an updated link to their Certificates of Analysis (COAs), with test results as recent as last month. You can view them here: floraandbast.com/products/coa-request.
The Clarifying Facial Cleanser Concentrate is labeled as containing 100mg of CBD; the COA reports 96.84mg per unit, which is within an acceptable margin. The Clarifying Facial Treatment lists 500mg CBD, 500mg CBG, and 100mg CBC. According to the COA, it contains 545.49mg CBD, 21.01mg CBG, and a total of 1124.03mg cannabinoids — though it also contains some THC (21.01 mg/unit), which isn’t mentioned on the product page.
As of now, I wasn’t able to find test results for the gummies.
Final Thoughts
Flora + Bast delivered noticeable results with a thoughtful, plant-based approach that really resonated with me. The Clarifying Facial Cleanser kept my skin feeling clean without being overly harsh (once I adjusted how much I used). The Clarifying Facial Treatment + Hydrosol duo helped smooth out texture and reduce breakouts over time. The Clear Skin Nutraceutical Gummies were a nice bonus. I liked the idea of supporting my skin from the inside and appreciated how they fit into my routine without much effort.
That said, these products aren’t cheap, especially for those just testing the waters with CBD skincare. For me, the results made it worthwhile, but it’s not an easy impulse buy. This feels more like an investment for people who are ready to commit to a longer skincare journey and prefer a natural, minimalist ingredient list.
There are a few drawbacks worth noting. The brand doesn’t provide third-party lab results or testing data for the Clear Skin Nutraceutical Gummies — which is something I’d expect at this price point — especially with CBD-based products. They also do not list how much of each active ingredient is included, which makes it hard to gauge what you’re actually getting in each dose.
For those seeking clean, CBD-powered skincare that actually makes a difference (and don’t mind a bit of trial and error), FLORA + BAST is worth a try. Just be prepared to treat it more like a luxury wellness ritual than average drugstore routines.
