Reefined CBD is a business that emphasizes the importance of CBD and aspires to bring awareness of the positive effects it can have on its users. According to the company, the purpose of its supplements is to improve everyday health for those who suffer from aches, inflammation, and stress.

Each of their products includes 100% hemp-derived CBD. That said, their supplements contain less than 0.3% of THC.

Reefined CBD grows its hemp in Colorado under a promising environmentally friendly habitat. Products are lab tested twice to ensure safety against any chemicals, pesticides, or herbicides.

The company offers three main products: CBD tablets, tinctures, and topicals. We tried the company’s 900 mg CBD Calm Tablets and unflavored Broad Spectrum 1,800 mg CBD Tincture for one week.

But First, the Lab Results

It is vital that consumers get the lab tests for each product to understand what they contain — kind of like an ingredient list. It goes in-depth with what cannabinoids or compounds are present and in what concentrations.

Even though they stated their labs check the products twice, their lab results do not support their statement. There is only one lab result for each product on their website. Additionally, some lab tests for certain products are not included. For example, the company does not provide lab tests for the 900 mg CBD Calm Tablets. Instead, they provided results for a 300 mg CBD version of the tablets. Emerald reached out to ask for the lab results of the 900 mg tablets, but did not receive a response by press time. Therefore, we cannot confirm whether the product is broad spectrum, or contains the advertised amount of CBD per bottle.

We compared the advertised cannabinoid content of the tincture to its lab test results. Those results show there is no THC in the tinctures. Results also show the oil contains non-intoxicating cannabinoids, like CBG and CBN, which confirms it is made with a broad-spectrum formula. The lack of THC, as stated in Healthline, prevents users from experiencing any psychological effects such as getting high.

Furthermore, results also reveal that the Broad Spectrum 1,800 mg CBD Tincture had 1,902 mg of CBD per bottle — or 5.67% more CBD than advertised. That is roughly 63.40 mg of CBD per serving (rather than 60 mg).

Research shows that CBD products should contain within +/-10% of what the company advertises. If it falls within this range, it receives an “A;” within 20% gets a “B;” 30% a “C,” and 31% or more earns an “F.” The tincture would get an “A.”

That said, here is my experience with each product.

Reefined Broad Spectrum CBD Tincture

1,800 mg CBD

$57.86 for 1 fluid ounce

This is a sublingual supplement, which means consumers ingest it by placing a few drops under their tongues. This allows the body to absorb the tincture into the bloodstream quickly.

The product’s directions state that users can take one serving — 20 drops — once per day. There were no measurements on the dropper, which made it slightly difficult to use.

With 30 servings per bottle, the bottle can last up to one month if used once a day. Moreover, curiosity got the best of me and I wanted to see if it has 30 servings. Frankly, their number of servings is correct.

The oil is unflavored and unscented as unadvertised. The only taste I experienced was the familiar taste of vegetable oil. Also, the smell was similar to that of vegetable oil. It is lightweight, soft, and runny. It left my mouth watery.

Medium-Chain Triglycerides (MCT) Coconut Oil

According to Reefined CBD, they make this tincture with medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) coconut oil because it intensifies the rate at which the body absorbs the cannabinoids and goes into effect, otherwise known as bioavailability.

According to Research Gate, the higher the oil’s fat content is, the faster the body can absorb it into the bloodstream. Furthermore, coconut oil contains a high concentration of MCT that accounts for 54% of fat, Healthline explains.

My Reefined CBD Tincture Experience

Usually, tinctures take about 15 to 45 minutes to take effect, reports Medical News Today. On the other hand, after timing myself, I started to feel its medicinal properties within one hour— longer than expected. After using the tincture, I began to feel more calm and relaxed.

Reefined CBD Calm Tablets

900 mg CBD

$45.21 for 30 tablets

Reefined 900 mg CBD Tablets aim to alleviate any sleeping problems. This natural sleep aid consists of CBD, melatonin, and chamomile.

A research study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) estimated that 50 to 70 million Americans reported that they experienced issues with sleep, such as a sleep duration or sleep deprivation.

Sleep issues, according to the American Heart Association, are dangerous because they can result in type 2 diabetes or depression.

Based on American Sleep Association (ASA), CBD acts as a sedative. Specifically, it helps reduce cortisol (aka the stress hormone) levels in the body, and in turn, prevents insomnia.

In agreement with the ASA, a study found that CBD helped participants reduce high levels of cortisol, and eliminate insomnia.

Similarly, melatonin is also a sedative, but one that our bodies naturally produce. However, labs can create it for individuals who need an extra boost to fall asleep and improve sleep cycles. It is one of the most common sleep aids, as three million Americans use it, reports the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Chamomile is another natural sleep aid that dates back to ancient Egypt. Insider reports the tea has a chemical compound called apigenin which is responsible for natural sleep.

My Reefined CBD Tablets Experience

I took the one pill 30 minutes before I went to bed. Since the tablets contain three different sedative supplements, I found myself feeling more relaxed, which helped me sleep faster than usual. I used to toss and turn many times to try and force myself to sleep. However, the tablets calmed me, and I was able to sleep in approximately 20 minutes. Because of this, I was happy with the results.

Is Reefined CBD Worth it?

Overall, I was satisfied with both products and would continue to use them. I was most impressed with Reefined CBD’s Calm Tablets. They did exactly as they claimed they would do — help me fall asleep fast. However, the lack of test results is concerning, and stops them short of earning a full five emeralds.

I also liked that these products have expiration dates on the bottom of each bottle. It was reassuring to see this since some CBD businesses do not include this detail.

In terms of price points, they are similar to those of other CBD tinctures and tablets. Furthermore, I believe that the CBD Calm Tablets are fairly priced at $45.21, considering that it did its job well. Additionally, at $57.86 per bottle, I found the tincture to be fairly priced as well.
