We Mixed and Matched Our Two Favorite Things: Fashion and Weed

July 11, 2019 by Emerald Magazine Leave a Comment

Mixed and Matched fashion and weed

Canada is just great. It has universal healthcare, weed is legal and its cannabis consumption increased by 40%, and it birthed a legendary icon: Celine Dion. Mrs. Dion has been blowing everyone’s minds with her latest extravagant, surreal, and royal-like outfits. She really does it all: from throwing it back to the 90’s with pink fluffy crop-tops and boyfriend jeans, to wearing brightly colored gowns, diamond earrings, and showing up to galas with two dogs on a leash.

When we think of Canada, we think of happy people, weed, and Celine Dion. So we selected some of our favorite Celine outfits, and paired them up with the weed strains they remind us of. Sit tight, and be ready to have your mind blown.

1. This Flowy Dress Reminds us of Zkittlez.

Celine Dion wore one of Iris van Herpen’s signature pleated dresses to the designer’s show on July 1, and it reminds us of a weed strain called Zkittlez. Zkittlez is an indica-dominant mix of Grape Ape and Grapefruit that is crossed with another undisclosed strain to produce this candy-flavored cannabis bred by 3rd Gen Family and Terp Hogz. This award-winning combination took 1st Place at the 2016 Emerald Cup and 1st Place Indica at the 2015 Cannabis Cups in San Francisco and in Michigan. The chunky colas explode in a spectrum of light green hues and emit a sweet, tropical blend of fruit flavors. The effects of Zkittlez are surprisingly uplifting for an indica, leaving consumers focused, alert, and happy while relaxing the body to help unwind any time of day.

2. This Green Print Flouffy, Frothy Strapless Dress, Accessorized by two Dogs, Reminds us of ChemDog.

While on a photoshoot, Celine accessorized her majestic oversized dress with two adorable puppies, and this outfit can only remind us of a strain called ChemDog. The original source of powerhouse strains like Sour Diesel and OG Kush, Chemdog is known for its distinct, diesel-like aroma. Pungent and sharp, you’ll be able to smell this hybrid from a mile away.

Cannabis newbies be warned: Chemdog tends to be very potent. Depending on grow conditions, this strain tends to have THC levels of 15-20%. Consumers can expect to have a very cerebral experience, coupled with a strong heavy-bodied feeling.

3. This Oversized Creamy Dress Reminds Us Of Guava Gelato

Celine stunned everyone in a larger-than-life outfit at Alexandre Vauthier, wearing in an ivory off-the-shoulder minidress with oversized balloon sleeves that acted as trains. And it reminds us of a strain called Guava Gelato. Guava Gelato is a Gelato phenotype from Sherbinkski. This genetic expression of the Gelato lineage delivers a unique terpene profile steeped in creamy, tropical aromas with bright notes of piña colada and hops. The buds take on a dense structure that is representative of its parental lineage while emitting an aroma all its own. Guava Gelato’s effects are indica-forward, laying heavily atop the limbs while it excites and uplifts the mind. These attributes make for an effective strain when combating stress, daily aches and pains, and nausea.

4. This Diamond Studded 90’s Chanel Belt Screams L.A. Confidential

L.A. Confidential is known as a very popular and successful strain. Its buds have a frosty, lime green appearance and little purple leaves. The taste is smooth and piney, with a classic skunky aroma that does not linger for too long. Overall, L.A. Confidential is a well-rounded strain that delivers a fast-approaching sensation that is both psychedelic and super calming on the mind and body. For newer patients seeking relief, L.A. Confidential can both lull you to sleep and treat acute pain.

5. These Pants That can do Both and Mean Business Match Wedding Cake Strain

The jeans come from Ksenia Schnaider, a Kiev-based designer famed for her playfully deconstructed demi-deni, and they remind us of the Wedding Cake strain. Wedding Cake, also known as Pink Cookies, is the familial genetic cross of Girl Scout Cookies and Cherry Pie. This delectable treat is rich with tangy sweet earth and pepper, taking notes and dimension from its OG and Durban Poison parentage. Enjoy this double dose of dense dankness with care, as certain farms have noted THC content upwards of 25% or greater.

6. This Psychedelic Body Suit Pairs up Well With Jack Herer

As stunning as ever during PFW, Celine showed off her incredible body in a two piece bodysuit jacket combo, and it makes us think of a strain called Jack Herer. Jack Herer is a sativa-dominant cannabis strain that has gained as much renown as its namesake, the marijuana activist and author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes. Combining a Haze hybrid with a Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk cross, Sensi Seeds created Jack Herer hoping to capture both the cerebral elevation associated with sativas and the heavy resin production of indicas. Its rich genetic background gives rise to several different variations of Jack Herer, each phenotype bearing its own unique features and effects. However, consumers typically describe this 55% sativa hybrid as blissful, clear-headed, and creative.
