Martha Stewart Launches Line of CBD Products for Pets

January 30, 2021 by Rita Thompson Leave a Comment

Just months after the release of Martha Stewart’s gourmet CBD gummies, the chef and longtime bestie to Snoop Dogg is officially launching a line of hemp-derived CBD-infused oil drops and soft-baked chews for dogs.

The line comes as a result of her collaboration with the Canadian cannabis company, Canopy Growth. Stewart joined Canopy as an adviser in early 2019 to help develop a line of products and grow the company, reported CNN.

Benefits of CBD for Dogs

While research on the benefits of CBD for pets is limited, we know dogs have endocannabinoid systems, just like humans. The systems are directly tied to their central nervous system and their immune systems. Thus, CBD can provide the same positive results to dogs as in humans for conditions like inflammation, or arthritis.

Stewart developed the treats with help from Canopy’s lead scientist and veterinarian, Dr. Bob Menard. The treats, which are developed for canines of all ages and breeds, are available in Wellness, Mobility, and Calm versions. They come in two sizes: one for small, and another for large furry friends.

The brand is also offering Pet Wellness Drops with 600 mg of CBD per bottle.

As explained on Stewart’s site, CBD oil supplements for pets can be helpful for issues including pain relief, inflammation, seizures, anxiety, nausea, and more.

Gourmet Goodies

“My dogs are not only my companions, but they are part of my family, and I prioritize their emotional and physical well-being as I do my own,” Stewart said in a statement. “Just as CBD can support human wellness, it’s been shown to improve the quality of life for pets as well.”

As for flavor, Stewart told Forbes that pets can expect the same top of the line taste provided by her recipes for humans.

“Taste is so important to me,” she explained. “Even for the dogs, I chose flavors like chicken, blueberry, cranberry, which are all good and nutritious.”All of Martha Stewart’s CBD-infused products, including those for us humans, are available here.
