Brightening CBD Mask

If your skin is in need of some serious glow, this is the mask for you. It contains yogurt, turmeric and lemon. Yogurt is full of healthy bacteria and fats that help plump and hydrate skin. Yogurt also contains lactic acid, which is an important ingredient used in skincare. Lactic acid has exfoliant properties that help to remove dead skin cells, reports Shape Magazine

The recipe contains turmeric as well as CBD, which both have amazing anti-inflammatory properties that can help to calm the skin. When using lemon juice on your skin, it is important to remember to use small amounts and to balance out the acidity with another hydrating ingredient. Too much lemon juice can be drying and irritating for your skin. If you are worried about this, you can always do a patch test on your wrist or behind your ear.

Recommended skin type: Normal/Combination skin

1 tablespoon full-fat plain yogurt (higher fat content = more moisture)

1 teaspoon turmeric

½ teaspoon (or 2-3 drops) CBD oil of choice

½ teaspoon raw honey

¼ teaspoon fresh lemon juice

In a small bowl, carefully measure your ingredients and mix together until smooth. Then apply evenly to face. Rinse with warm water after 10-15 min. Pat dry. Follow with your favorite CBD moisturizer to lock in the hydration.

Tip: Turmeric has the ability to stain your skin and any other surfaces it may come in contact with. Raw honey helps to minimize the amount of staining left behind, but to play it safe, do this mask a few days prior to any special events or outings to allow for fading.

CBD Acne fighting Mask

CBD is known to fight redness, inflammation and bacteria, making it one of the best solutions for fighting acne, according to research published in the journal Molecules. Bentonite clay also has a powerful detoxifying ability. When mixed with apple cider vinegar, it creates an electrical charge which pulls out any unwanted toxins and impurities from the skin. You can feel the mask pulsate as it pulls the unwanted gunk from your skin.

According to Healthline, apple cider vinegar restores your skin’s pH balance, tones it, and removes dead skin cells with alpha-hydroxy-acid — a natural exfoliant. Adding a bit of honey helps to calm the acidity of the apple cider vinegar. Any extra mask leftover can be saved in an airtight container and used as an acne spot treatment for any stubborn pop-up pimples. Simply just apply to blemish before bed and wash off the next morning.

Recommended skin type: Acne-Prone and Oily skin

2 tablespoons bentonite clay powder

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

½ teaspoon (or 2-3 drops) CBD oil of choice

½ teaspoon raw honey

*Optional* 2-3 drops lavender essential oil

Mix even parts of bentonite clay with apple cider vinegar until you achieve a smooth, creamy texture. Then, add in your CBD drops, raw honey and optional lavender essential oil, and give it a good mix. Apply evenly to face. Wait until the mask has completely dried and has started to crack before washing off. Apply your favorite acne-fighting serums and moisturizer afterwards to replenish the moisture barrier in your skin.

Tip: Because bentonite clay has an electrical charge, it is crucial that you mix the ingredients together with plastic, wood or glass utensils. Touching bentonite clay with metal removes the charge, leaving it unable to draw out the toxins.

Due to the apple cider vinegar, the mask has a bit of an unpleasant smell. Adding a few drops of lavender essential oil helps to mask the smell as well as adds anti-bacterial properties that further help to speed up the acne healing process.

The mask may leave behind a red sunburned look – don’t worry! This is totally normal and will subside typically within 30 minutes after removing the mask.

Soothing Hydration CBD Mask

Great for all skin types, this is the perfect mask for a pick me up. This intensely hydrating mask will leave your skin supple and glowing.

Oatmeal is a superfood for our skin. According to a Nutrition Reviews study, it is packed full of avenanthramides that work to deliver anti-inflammatory, anti-proliferative, and anti-itching properties to our skin. In fact, grounding up the oats into a fine powder makes for a gentle exfoliant to slosh off layers of dead skin.

Avocado is known as a healthy fat that’s great for your hair, skin and nails. Using avocado in a face mask allows for these healthy fats to sit on top of the outer layer of your epidermis, deeply moisturizing it. Avocados can also soothe skin conditions such as acne or eczema, improve elasticity and speed up the collagen restoring process

Since oil attracts oil, the fat in the avocado also gives the CBD oil something to bind to, ensuring the CBD is evenly dispersed across your face.

Recommended skin type: All types

3 tablespoons ground oats

2-3 drops CBD oil of choice

½ mashed avocado

½ teaspoon raw honey

In a food processor or blender, grind the oats into a fine powder. In a small bowl, mix together oats, mashed avocado, raw honey and CBD drops until you have formed a smooth paste. Then, apply to skin and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Pat dry. Apply favorite CBD serum and moisturizer for ultimate hydration.

Tip: Refrigerate the mask before you apply it to your face for a cold, soothing effect — this works great for sunburns!
